David Massey, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.

 

Mr. Massey earned his B.A. in Experimental Psychology from the University of North Carolina - Asheville and his Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. 

 

Mr. Massey is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work.  He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Clinical Social Work Association, the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work, and the National Board of Addiction Examiners. 

 

Mr. Massey has 29 years of experience, 27 of them in the Charlotte area.  Prior to joining Eastover Psychiatric Group, he worked as a Medical Social Worker with the Heart Transplant team at Carolinas Medical Center and had his own private practice.

 

Mr. Massey joined Eastover Psychiatric Group in 2004.  He sees adolescents, adults, couples and families dealing with Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Men's Issues.  He also provides DOT/SAP evaluations and EAP counseling services.  

 

Mr. Massey's style is direct and reality-oriented, with use of Cognitive Behavioral and Problem-Solving approaches.  Mr. Massey strongly believes in financial empowerment and stability and integrates these elements into his therapeutic approach.
